WHO CARES?

For the past three years, artists and care workers Alice Pons and Olivia Reschofsky from collective MOHA dedicated themselves to the topic of Care through an ongoing research called Who Cares?: a quest to understand what Care is in our contemporary society.

Rather than try to address this question from a theoretical level, MOHA immersed them- selves into the lives and works of different “care experts”, the one who maintains, repairs, carries, organises, listens. Street cleaners, district nurses, youth workers, cooks and cleaners of an elderly home, cultural workers, community workers a.o.

MOHA took an internship with these professions and organised a series of conversations. Together they stripped the topic of care and looked into “caring” as an intimate, personal, structural and political act, hidden in simple tasks, difficult to measure, sometimes invisible. The insights from these interactions significantly influenced MOHA’s perspective on Care and how it relates to their art practice.
